Lauren Nichols is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional. Her favorite thing in the world to do is show individuals their value and to help people make peace with themselves and their fears. She is genuinely excited to roll up her sleeves with you and wage some clinical warfare on the things that hold us back from living a life of joy and freedom.
Lauren is a Christian and is passionate about being an instrument of Jesus' mercy, no matter where you are in your faith.
If you are searching for a safe place to be heard and genuinely cared for, please reach out! She would love to help you through the process of healing.
Lauren began working as a school counselor in bilingual schools in 2017 and shifted to professional counseling in 2021. She sees children, adolescents, and adults.
Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband and her three young children. She enjoys running, doing yoga, reading books, singing, playing instruments, and going on long walks. She also loves sniffing out some good coffee and pastries.
Clients often come to me because they feel enslaved to their fears. Sometimes they find themselves spending 3-8 hours a day obsessing over fears such as losing loved ones, hurting friends, acting on unwanted impulses, or just that they are "a bad person". They want to learn how to be free from having to perform certain rituals or mentally track and replay experiences in order to neutralize or prevent some perceived threat. I can help you get there through the gold standard of treatment: CBT, ACT and ERP! Listening, caring, and advocating for others is my priority. I take so much joy and satisfaction in standing up to anxiety with you, whether it manifests as OCD, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, panic disorder, or phobias.
I specialize in treating anxiety and all of its forms, but I also have experience working with depression, ADHD, dissociation, Bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, autism, perfectionism, family of origin issues, childhood developmental trauma, identity issues, spiritual issues, difficult transitions or adjustments, relationship or parenting struggles, school and work issues, ODD, self-esteem, addiction, body image/eating disorders, chronic illness, stress, grief, life crises, suicidal thoughts and self-harm, and trauma.
I tailor each session and treatment plan according to the client's needs and goals. I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), exposure response prevention (ERP), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), psychoeducation, dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), narrative therapy, internal family systems (IFS), mindfulness-based therapy, and play, music, and art as appropriate.

I do not work with insurance at this time as I prefer a tailor-based approach to each client outside of insurance constraints.
I can provide receipts which can be used to submit to insurance companies, as some reimburse counseling costs. I also accept FSA/HSA cards.
If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, please call 9-1-1, 9-8-8 (suicide and crisis hotline) or go to your nearest emergency room.
